8 Days to go and the Movers have Arrived!

Impossibly, our move to Switzerland is just a mere 8 days away now. And so today began a 4 day moving marathon. We all slept in a little later this morning, not bothering to set the alarm for my standard 5:45 wake up time. After all, with Hannah, no chance in sleeping past an 8:00 am appointment. But alas, the movers came early - 7:30! I step out of the shower to the sound of the doorbell! Eek! Mark had gone for coffee so in a panic I'm digging through my suitcase trying to find something to throw on before the movers either drive away or start peeking in the windows!

I worked from home today - not that we had to do any packing, thankfully, but to help ensure that we did not end up in Basel with boxes of newborn clothes and a lobster cooker. Those items did succesfully make it to the storage pile and SHOULD end up in long term storage. I guess we will find out for sure when we get there.

Our tiny air shipment was completed within an hour. This consisted of 3 large boxes of miscellaneous items that should arrive in 14-21 days (yeah, right) in Basel - diapers, DVD's and toys for Hannah. Spoiled! The rest of the day our three movers spent packing items for our sea shipment. They were here until 4:00pm and DID get a lot done but there is MUCH more to do. How did we accumulate so much stuff??? There was only one injury, which I suffered at the claws of Arbuckle. She has never liked the sound of packing tape being pulled off the roll. I now have the scars to prove it.

Now we wait for Hannah to wake up from her nap so we can all stare at each other in this house full of boxes. I've taken pictures that I wanted to post but....as luck would have it....the cord to download the pictures from the camera has been packed!!!
